Who We Are
Orapa Saccos is a savings and credit co-operative society registered in Botswana under the Cooperative Societies Act. The society’s main objectives include:
- Promoting thrift amongst its members through savings.
- To create a pool of funds for which members can benefit i.e loans and interests on savings.
- To charge competitive lowest interest rate on member loans thereby enabling members to use and control their money for their mutual benefit.
- To accept and invest member’s savings at a reasonable rate of return.
- To promote education and training of the members and employees on co-operative principles and practices.
- To co-operate with other co-operatives at all levels.

Our Vision is “to be one of the leading savings and credit cooperative societies in Botswana offering excellent services and products to our customers”.
MISSION
The mission of Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mine Workers Savings and Credit Co-operative Society is to provide efficient, sound and affordable services to its members at reasonable interest rates to meet their social and economic needs.
About us.
Our History
We’ve been doing this for a while now.
Orapa SACCOS was first established by the Botswana Mine Workers Union, to provide financial aid to Debswana employees who were Union members. The Society has since separated itself from the Union and is open to ALL Debswana employees and their families.
Success Through Collaborations
One of the basic principles of the Cooperative Movement is the belief in cooperation and mutual self-help, hence Orapa SACCOS providing members with a platform where they can easily save and have access to affordable, easy and quick loans to pay while earning interest on their savings.

It enjoys a goodwill gesture from its members and other stakeholders that are keen on making Africa a better place to live
